Onyx International is going to present in the CeBit it’s Boox ebook reader Onyx Boox, competing with Amazon’s Kindle 2. The Boox has a 6-inch, 8-inch or 9.7-inch E-Link Vizplex EPD touchscreen display with 16-level grayscale, Powered by a 400MHz processor or above.
The Boox also has 128MB RAM and 512MB flash memory, USB 2.0 port, a SD/MMC card slot with SDIO/SDHC support and a 2.5mm headphone jack. Onyx’s Boox has an integrated 1600mAh rechargeable Li-ion battery. Users can get the optional WiFi, CDMA, 3G, GPRS support. Format supported include PDF, TXT, HTML, MOBIPOCKET, EPUB, CHM, PDB, JPG, PNG, GIF, BMP, TIFF, MP3, WAV.
It also boasts of text to speech which certainly narrows the gap between its features and the Kindle 2 and is definitely more than what we can say about the NUUT2. No pricing and availability info yet announced.
